So Ive been toying around with the idea to do a top 10 of all the music in my life. My favorites out of all the music ive ever listened to. I had hesitations and I dont know why, so im just gonna do it.
Ive chosen to do albums because im a firm believer in albums as a whole cohesive movement of where a band stands at a particular point in time. Ive never liked just picking out songs out of context.
Well I started with my ipod and my hard drive just writting down all my most noticable albums and ended up with 38 total... Then. The cut.
I cut the ones that I just liked alot and ended up with 17
Then I cut it down by asking myself 'Could I live without never having heard this?' Call my shallow or dependent or what have you, but gosh darn it worked.
Alot of my favorite albums I can remember jamming to 'back in the day' got the cut. Its a sad thing to do but Im happy with my overall choice.
